The Diploma in Electrical Installation & Electronics is a four-year technical program designed to develop skilled professionals in electrical systems, wiring installations, and electronic devices. The course combines theoretical instruction with intensive hands-on practical training to ensure students gain the competencies required for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work.

Students will acquire expertise in interpreting electrical drawings, installing wiring systems, maintaining electrical equipment, and working with digital and analog electronics. The program also prepares learners to meet electrical safety standards and local codes, and introduces them to emerging technologies such as renewable energy and automation systems.

Year 1 – Fundamentals of Electrical Installation & Electronics

Semester 1:

Year 2 – Advanced Systems & Industry Application

Semester 3:

  1. Power Systems & Electrical Machines

  2. Advanced Wiring & Installation Standards

  3. Industrial Electronics & Control Systems

  4. Introduction to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)

  5. Solar PV Systems & Renewable Energy Basics

  6. Project II: Wiring a Multi-Room Structure

  7. Industrial Visit / Field Training

Semester 4:

  1. Inspection, Testing & Fault Diagnosis

  3. Entrepreneurship & Electrical Business Start-Up

Applicants must have:

  • Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or equivalent

  • Credits in the following subjects:

    • Mathematics

    • Physical Science / Physics

    • English

  • Basic understanding of technical concepts is an added advantage
